Preston International Hockey Tournament Rules

All Games will be played under OMHA Rules.

All teams should be ready to play up to 15 mins before the scheduled start time

The Home Team will wear Light Coloured Jerseys and the Visiting team will wear Dark Coloured Jerseys. In the event of a discrepancy it will be the responsibility of the Home Team to Change Jerseys.

The Tournament Chairman will have final say on all Rules and Interpretations thereof. Officials On Ice decisions will be final, there will be no protests heard regarding On Ice decisions

All games will be 10-10-15 in period length

Each Team will receive 1 30 Second Time Out in SF, and Final Games ONLY, none during Round Robin Games

In the case where a team is up by 5 or more goals in the 3rd period the clock will change to Run Time, the clock will remain running until the losing team gets within 3 goals (or in case of an injury). Minor Penalties incurred during Run Time will be 3 Mins and Major Penalties will be 7 Mins. The clock will stop if there is a delay caused by an injury.

Any player or Team Official receiving a Major Penalty, Match Penalty or Gross Misconduct Penalty will be subject to the suspension as per the OMHA Minimum Suspension List. It is the team's responsibility to enforce a longer suspension if your home associations rules are harsher, or if the person is a repeat offender subject to a longer suspension

Teams will receive 2 points for a Win, One point for a Tie and Zero Points for a loss in the Round Robin

In the Case of a Tie between 3 or more teams after the Round Robin to determine the order of placement the following rules will apply;

Goal Differential (Total Goals Scored/(Total Goals For + Total Goals Against)), If this eliminates one or more teams but one or more are still tied, continue to the next appropriate Tie Breaking Procedure

In the Case of a Tie between 2 teams after the Round Robin to determine the order of placement the following rules will apply;

Head to Head results in the Game between the 2 teams tied (if applicable)

Goal Differential (Total Goals Scored/(Total Goals For + Total Goals Against))

- In the case of a Tie between 2 teams at the end of regulation time in a SF, or Final game, the following rules will apply
- 5 Minutes of 4 on 4 Overtime
- If Still Tied, 5 Minutes of 3 on 3 Overtime
- If Still Tied, 5 Minutes of 2 on 2 Overtime
- If Still Tied, 3 Player Shoot Out
- If Still Tied, Sudden Death Shootout (Each Player Dressed (Excluding Goaltenders) must shoot once before any player can take a second shot
Note: At any point during the Overtime the Arena Chairman may instruct the game to go directly to a Shoot Out in the case of Ice Time constraints, this would be an extreme situation
